Things to See in Rome
Rome is one of the world’s most popular holiday locations and for good reason as there is so much to see and do here. Blessed with a wide variety of different historical sites from Rome’s long and illustrious history walking around the city often feels like walking in an open air museum. Pantheon

The Pantheon is a marvel to engineering and an amazing art filled site. Built in 120 A.D. the Pantheon is known for its perfect design proportions that allowed the unsupported dome roof to sit on top of the structure without the fear of collapse. The Pantheon has long been used as a burial ground for famous Roman artists and royalty. At present the great Italian artist Raphael has been laid down to rest here along with Italian kings Umberto I and Emmanuel II. Not just a fantastic must see attraction in of itself, the Pantheon is also in the Piazza della Rotunda which is a cozy setting for coffee, a pizza slice or gelato.
St. Peter’s Basilica

One of the world’s most impressive churches and the epicenter of Roman Catholicism is St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Filled with such a rich array of art and religious allusions many travelers suggest you spring for the guided tour in order to best take in this experience. A great way to see fantastic views over top of Rome is to trek to the top of the dome by climbing the 323 steps to its summit. There is also an elevator available, if you prefer not to climb the stairs, for an additional fee. Be fore warned that the church is active and that there is a stringent dress code of no short skirts, bare shoulders, or hats inside. As it is a popular attraction there can also often be very long queues to get in.
Church of Sant’Ignazio Di Loyola

Near to Trevi Fountain is the wonderful Sant’Ignazio. What makes this church famous is its wonderfully ethereal ceiling that was painted and decorated for years and years by priest/ artists Andrea Pozzo before the church was completed.
